What is it for?
It’s a perennial plant native to Europe that has yellow and purple flowers and a strong smell of mint that attracts cats.
It has a volatile oil called neolactona that can be found everywhere on the plant. This oil has a narcotic and stimulant effect in cats making them play more and engage in more activity. The plant is not addictive and it’s not dangerous so can be used freely.
Using catnip with a wide choice of toys will stimulate cat’s attention and interaction.
Catnip has different presentations and is sold in any pet shop.
